GRETEL SCARLETT - Ensemble

Originally from Rockhampton in Central Queensland, Gretel Scarlett graduated from WAAPA in 2008 after being awarded the prestigious 2008 'Leslie Anderson Award' for the best overall Showcase Performance, 2008 Hal Leonard Award and the 2007 Finley Award. Upon graduation, Gretel was immediately cast in the 2009 Australian Tour of Breast Wishes making her professional debut in the role of Sal. Gretel’s theatre credits include Hello Again, Oklahoma, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story and the lead role of Mrs Johnstone in WAAPA'S production of Blood Brothers. Gretel also worked as the official WAAPA Choreographer for Sweeney Todd and Loving Repeating as well as Associate Choreographer for Hello Again (WAAPA) and also Darlinghurst Theatre’s production of Hello Again. Having trained extensively in all aspects of the performing arts, Gretel studied full-time Classical Ballet at Alegria Dance Studios completing her final RAD Examination (ARAD), Cecchetti Ballet Exams as well as Contemporary, Jazz & Tap. She also completed her Trinity & AMEB Classical Voice and Speech/Drama Examinations. Gretel originally choose a career path in 'Nuclear Medicine’; however her love of Theatre drew her back to the stage. Gretel is delighted to be part of the 10th Anniversary Australian Tour of MAMMA MIA!.
