ANNE WOOD - Donna Sheridan

Anne’s career began with the original Melbourne cast of Cats, touring nationally, before joining the German company.

For six years she performed in London and Germany with credits including lead roles in A Swell Party, Aspects of Love, Barnum, Crazy For You, Romance Romance, Into The Woods and Closer than Ever.

On returning to Australia, Anne appeared in Jacques Brel Is Alive & Well & Living in Paris, Crazy for You (Irene) and The Sound of Music (Elsa Schraeder) – the latter two roles earning her Green Room Award nominations.

In 2001, Anne was cast as the lead role of Donna in the original Australian production of MAMMA MIA! earning her a Green Room Award and an invitation to play the role on London’s West End.

Since then, she has appeared in Closer than Ever at the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, the highly acclaimed Minefields and Miniskirts for the Malthouse Theatre, the Brisbane season of Menopause, The Musical and in concert nationally with Australia’s Leading Ladies. She has also performed in The Production Company’s Carousel, Damn Yankees, and Follies, receiving rave reviews for her portrayal of Phyllis Stone.

Most recently, Anne has toured nationally in cabaret with Shaun Murphy and appeared as Magenta in the Melbourne season of The Rocky Horror Show.

Anne is excited about coming back to the MAMMA MIA! family.
