JENNIFER VULETIC - Tanya
Jennifer returns to the role of TANYA - the role she was delighted to play through cities on the Australian, New Zealand and South East Asian legs of the original Australian production tour. A NIDA graduate from the class of 1984, Jennifer has enjoyed a varied career travelling all over the world - Tokyo, Hong Kong, Turkey, Sweden, Singapore, New York, New Zealand - and all over Australia in her work as an actress and singer. Like her life, her work has included comedy and tragedy, working for such varied companies as The Sydney Theatre Company, Queensland Theatre Company, Belvoir Street, South Australian Opera Company, Western Australian Opera Company, South Australian Theatre Company, Griffin Theatre Company, Riverina Theatre Company and Darwin Theatre Company.
She toured internationally & nationally (2003-2005) with MAMMA MIA!, playing the role of Tanya, and went straight from that to another hit show, Menopause the Musical which toured all over Australia and New Zealand. Most recently she performed in the award-winning Barrie Kosky production (STC/Malthouse) of The Women Of Troy. She was thrilled to appear in Jerry Springer - The Opera at the Sydney Opera House performing the role of Zandra.
She has penned five cabarets (including Balkan After Midnight which won an award at the 2001 Sydney Cabaret Convention). The most recent cabaret, Phantoms, Phishnets & Ph*#$ed Up Love was written with her co-writer & long-time pal, Michael Stanley. Inspired by their cabaret success, they revived their creative partnership to form Vusta. Songs from their new CD Liquid Dream of Blue, first performed in New Zealand at Shanghai Lil's in 2006, were recently showcased at their CD launch on August 30th at Notes in Newtown.
